DEU System
T
he DEU is an influence sensor actuated training device used to train and evaluate the EOD Diver in diving and minefield discipline. The DEU can be operated in two modes; (1) with the DEU instrumentation attached to the DEU Mine case for extended operations or (2) with the DEU instrumentation attached to the DEU Vertical stand for recovery after each exercise. The DEU is instrumented with four mine-like sensors, (1) low frequency and (2) high frequency hydro-phones, (3) a magnetometer, and (4) a seismic geo-phone. Sensor thresholds are selectable by the user and an alarm can be programmed to sound if any of the thresholds are exceeded, thereby providing immediate feedback to the diver.
