Mobile Support Facility
The MK 1 Mod 0 EOD MSF is designed to support
EOD Diving operations and to provide recompression chamber treatment for pressure-related
diving injuries. The EOD MSF consists of three modules: the Fly-Away Recompression Chamber
(FARCC), Life Support Skid (LSS), and Fly-Away Dive Locker (FADL). The FARCC and LSS are
required to work together; however, the FADL can be used
independently of the FARCC/LSS.
The FARCC is designed to provide
recompression chamber therapy for
pressure-related diving injuries, and is capable of supporting Treatment Tables 1 through
6A, and 8. The LSS distributes electrical power, air, O2, and heated and cooled
water to the FARCC. The LSS also distributes electrical power to the FADL. The FADL
provides sufficient consumables to conduct 30 days continuous diving operations to maximum
mission profile. The FADL also provides space for pre/post-dive procedures and
maintenance actions.
